Serum, face cream or eye cream: how to choose

When comparing a serum, a face cream and an eye cream, start with two questions: where you will apply it and what information its formula provides. Sharing an ingredient or appearing together in a collection does not make products interchangeable.

This guide compares the three EVRAYNE products to help you choose which steps to include. You do not need to buy the whole collection to get started.

What makes each product different

ProductWhat you will find at EVRAYNEDirections for use
Face serum30 ml, with Bidens pilosa extract, aloe and jojoba oil.A few drops on a clean face, in the morning and/or evening, before cream if you use one.
Face cream50 ml, with Hexapeptide-11, hyaluronic acid and Sodium PCA.On clean skin, morning and evening.
Eye cream15 ml, with Hexapeptide-11, Sodium PCA and jojoba oil.Around the eyes, on clean skin, morning and evening. Avoid direct contact with the eyes.

If you are looking for a face cream

The EVRAYNE Peptide Face Cream is the collection's moisturiser and is used both morning and evening. You can apply it after cleansing; serum is an optional step, not a requirement for using the cream.

Check the full formula and directions on its product page. The presence of peptides or hyaluronic acid alone does not allow you to compare the results of two different products.

If you are considering adding a serum

The Bidens Pilosa Face Serum has its own composition. The extract in its name is different from retinol and bakuchiol, neither of which appears in this product's published INCI list.

Before adding it, consider what it contributes to your selection and how its use fits with the products you already have. Adding a serum does not guarantee that one routine will give better results than another.

If you want a product specifically for the eye area

The Peptide Eye Cream is intended for that area and comes in a 15 ml container. The face cream and eye cream share Hexapeptide-11 and Sodium PCA, but their full ingredient lists differ.

Use each formula in its indicated area and follow its warnings. A product's name does not establish that it removes puffiness, dark circles or wrinkles.

What to check before choosing

  • The full ingredients. All three formulas contain fragrance. Check their INCI lists if you avoid fragrance or a particular ingredient.
  • Purpose and directions. Compare the product page information with the instructions on the packaging, rather than deciding based on a featured ingredient alone.
  • What you already use. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends starting with a simple foundation of cleansing, moisturising and sun protection. Having more products is not a goal in itself.
  • Quantity. The containers hold 30, 50 and 15 ml respectively. How long they last depends on how much you apply and how often; there is no fixed replenishment interval.

These formulas have no declared SPF. Sun protection is a separate step. For guidance on where each application fits, see the morning and evening skincare routine guide. To review the first step, read how to use cleansing milk.
